Arthritis NSW recognises that children who have Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) experience severe pain, stiffness, fatigue and muscle weakness, often on a daily basis. As a result, we host an annual camp to create a fun environment for children and teenagers with arthritis to learn about their condition and ways of coping with it, meet other kids and teenagers who have the disease, gain and develop leisure and sporting skills, increase confidence and self-esteem and give them the opportunity to gain control over their arthritis and their lives.
Camp Footloose is held during the September school holidays and is usually held at a NSW Department of Sport and Recreation campsite.
