Joint Initiative is a program designed for Arthritis NSW members and supporters to provide a monthly regular monthly gift to help fund research into arthritis and osteoporosis.
By showing your commitment to our organisation, this simple, yet incredible change in the way you give to Arthritis NSW, will help provide funds necessary which allows us to plan for long-term projects and hopefully find a cure.
For just a regular monthly gift of $15 per month, just 50 cents a day, you will be making a difference to the world of research and arthritis.
As you would be aware, research takes time. Finding a cure for arthritis or osteoporosis could take five, 10 or even 15 years of persistence. Without long term funding, these research projects may not be able to get started.
As Arthritis NSW receives very little government funding, the money raised from memberships and donations goes straight back to providing information and services to our members and the NSW community.
Research initiatives need dedicated funds, often over long periods of time. Only by supporting research, will we move towards a cure.
As you know, arthritis is not yet curable but with early and proper diagnosis as well as a customised management plan, it can be controlled. There have been major advances in the treatment and prevention of arthritis and it has transformed lives. But imagine finding a cure to this condition? Imagine being able to wake up in the morning and not having this feeling of pain? Without being able to fund research, this will not be possible…. With a gift of $15 per month, these funds could help find a cure to this condition.
Motherhood Choices: A decision Aid for women with Rheumatoid Arthritis
Arthritis NSW recently contributed funding to a study conducted by Dr Tanya Covic from the University of Western Sydney to develop an evidence-based, empirically validated Decision Aid Tool to assist women with Rheumatoid Arthritis make informed decisions about pregnancy and motherhood within the contact of this chronic condition.
The Decision Aid Tool has now been completed and information can be found on our website www.arthritisnsw.org.au.
Arthritis NSW believes this project is an important one for all young women with rheumatoid arthritis.
By providing a monthly gift of $15 or 50 cents a day, this will enable Arthritis NSW provide more funds for study and research into arthritis and osteoporosis
Meet Lucas, a healthy young baby boy born on the 20th March. Currently 7.1 kilos and full of energy, keeping his mummy on her toes 24/7. Lucas has his whole future ahead of him. He will have many magical moments in his life that he will treasure forever such as his first day of school, his first kiss, his first overseas holiday, his retirement…..
But what about not so magic moments in his life? Chances are Lucas is more likely to get arthritis than diabetes, asthma or cardiovascular disease (source: abs.gov.au).
And what is the impact on him of getting arthritis? It could affect his work, his financial situation, his personal relationships and it may also affect him on a personal level. However this doesn’t have to be so……
If Arthritis NSW can help fund more research, there may be advances in prevention and treatment by the time Lucas is older.
Please consider a regular monthly gift of $15 per month to help fund more research projects, people like Lucas and of course yourself or your family, do not have to live with this pain if we can help find a cure for arthritis or osteoporosis.
