Children can experience significant stress and anxiety when undergoing medical procedures, particularly if involving hospitalisation. This webinar is aimed at providing parents with the knowledge and skills required to assist their child develop resilience and coping strategies.

Presenter: Janet Burke
Janet studied Early Childhood Education at Wollongong University and has worked in early-childhood and primary school settings in Australia, Canada and England. In 2001 Janet was the successful candidate for the inaugural Play Therapist position at Bear Cottage, the children’s hospice in Manly, Sydney. As the first Play Therapist in Palliative Care in Australia, Janet established the Play Therapy program at Bear Cottage and in 2004 was awarded a Churchill Fellowship. In 2010, Janet moved to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead as the Child Life Therapist, and in 2011 of took on her current role as the Manager of Child Life and Music Therapy at Sydney Children’s Hospital.

Cancellations and refunds
Please note that as per section 7.2 of our Fees & Pricing Policy, if an event or service does not attract sufficient registrations, fees, sponsorship and/or donations to break even, Arthritis & Osteoporosis NSW reserves the right to cancel or postpone the event. In such an event, participants who have registered will be provided with four options:
1) The registration fee may be retained for participation on the revised date.
2) The registration fee may be reallocated to another Arthritis & Osteoporosis NSW event or service.
3) A full refund may be provided, with the option to re-register at future events.
4) The participant may choose to allocate the registration fee as a tax-deductible donation to Arthritis & Osteoporosis NSW.
